Originally a means of leaving thoughts, poems, and stories for my first daughter, this blog has grown into an expression of life as I know it. I hope that some day my daughters will look through these musings and see the man they call “Dad” (or Dada, or otousan, or whatever it is they’ll call me). I don’t expect them or any other readers to completely understand the words I commit to the page, but I think that is the point of such styles of writing; if every poem were as unmysterious as an owner’s manual for a TV, it would be a very boring genre indeed.
