Of course the clouds are our goal,
but first there’s a mountain to scale;
first we must face the trials of today.
Would that we could skip ahead, throw
caution to the wind and strike out, see
what adventures each step brings.
There’s a smile to be had there
among the unknown shadows,
a firm comfort in discovery,
and what memories we’ll have
of the sacrifices we’ll need to make.
There’s a treasure to be unearthed
from the muck and grime of routine,
if only we think to look deep enough.
So let’s bound once more into the fray,
face the pulsing light of day together,
scratch our way toward the horizon,
never stopping until we come full circle.
