‘Round and ’round

And when the clock strikes one
++this mess will come undone.

And when the clock strikes two,
++who knows if this will do?

And when the clock strikes three,
++I’ll take you home with me.

And when the clock strikes four,
++we’ll meet them all once more.

And when the clock strikes five,
++these doubts will come alive.

But when the clock strikes six,
++they’ll all see past these tricks.

When the clock strikes seven,
++all that’s left we’ll question.

So when the clock strikes eight,
++hold on to that failing hate.

And when the clock strikes nine,
++I’ll try to make it mine.

And when the clock strikes ten,
++the song will start again.

When the clock strikes eleven,
++don’t think it’s the lesson.

‘Cause when the clock strikes twelve,
++this’ll go back on the shelf.
