A coming storm

Processed with VSCOcam with a7 preset

There’s
a storm
a fusion
a passion
a river
a reminder
on the horizon
come
to reconfigure
to bury
to fortify
to simplify
in one fell swoop
all that
we planted
we bought
we drew
we quenched
in the river
with clarity
with a dash of pepper
with new leaves
with an element of danger
spreading
toward both ends
of the clock
over the table
into corners
overlooked
forgotten
admired
missed.

About today’s poem:
Next week marks the first time another Newport has come to visit us in Japan. I’m excited at the prospect of sharing our home with my little sister and her fiancé.
