Answering morning with a smile

Answering morning with a smile

Is that ocean’s embrace
warm against winter’s threads,
cool under a summer sun?
What color the wings
carrying you into the clouds
and their perforated silence?
Do our calls to wake sing
a melody smooth and warm
against the cacophony
and chaos of dream, or
does the song change midtune
into a pace apart? What order
do you find in morning’s light,
how quick does it chase away
the brief memories of night,
the vignette draining clear
as the familiarity of us
once again comes into focus?

I had a dream, too. Vivid, but not so poetic. This is good work!
